Swift School launched its Middle Division in fall 2011, with the addition of a 7th grade.
Swift School’s mission is to prepare students with dyslexia and related language-based learning differences to be successful in life. The strong success of the School’s Lower Division was an important element of the Board’s decision to expand academic program offerings at the 6th-8th grade level.
“Curriculum models are under study both at the Board and school levels. Our vision is to create a technology-rich environment that is blended with character formation experiences, a fully lab-based science sequence, the fine arts, athletics, and leadership opportunities,” shares Head of School Rich Wendlek.
Swift School will begin to accept students for the 2012-13 academic year in February 2012. Students admitted to the Middle Division will be those who will benefit from a stimulating, state-of-the-art program.
Wendlek adds, “The big-picture design of the Swift Middle Division includes an intimate experience where student-teacher relationships are close and meaningful, and each student’s relationship to the School is a key element of the overall experience.”
