Statement of Core Values

Certain central and essential elements of the School's existence as an independent day school serving students with language-based learning differences emerged as core values. The Statement of Core Values is synonymous with institutional beliefs statements. Although our vision statement will change over time, our mission statement and Statement of Core Values will remain the same. Our core values are the basis of our mission and are stated as follows:

1. We possess an intuitive love and understanding for the students we serve.

2. We validate our students' learning styles in order to inspire a life-long love of learning.

3. We value being a part of an interdependent collaborative team, and of knowing that we are a part of something greater than any of us individually.

4. We believe it essential to help our students grow in confidence and to develop a sense of belief in their individual potentials.

5. We embrace our role in uncovering the hidden talents and abilities of our students.

6. We recognize that the fulfillment of our purpose makes a positive difference in the learning outcomes of our students.

7. We know that creating excitement about learning and celebrating success with others is instrumental in the development of each student.

8. We believe providing a safe environment is crucial for learning.

9. We apply standards of excellence in creating positive learning and community experiences.

10. We know that teaching at a high level of expectation and providing students with standards of character development - honesty, work ethic, and patience - are our primary and interrelated missions and form the total school experience.

11. We are motivated by the positive energy and expertise created by the diagnostic-prescriptive teaching methodology.

12. We believe all constituents should be made to feel an important part of the community, and that building relationships is crucial in the development of the child.

13. We realize that all members of the community must participate for the advancement of the institutional vision and mission.

14. We apply standards of excellence, quality, value and relevance to all we do.
